THIS IS SOMETHING THAT TOUCHES OUR HEARTS.

We source many of our ingredients from community farms in India, where organic farming practices have helped revitalize rural towns and villages; small communities whose very lifestyle has been threatened by a historical focus on small, individual plots of land, a reliance on monoculture, and the overuse of chemical pesticides and fertilizers.

RESURRECTING THE LAND

two-dot-d

Faced with the overwhelming environmental, economic, and social problems plaguing Indian agriculture, biodynamic, organic community farms have been established across the country, with widespread economic and social benefits:

The return to organic farming methods has helped soils recover quickly from pesticide poisoning. Yields have risen sharply as a result, whilst cultivation and input costs have dropped by as much as 70%, thanks to the use of natural products like manure.

Community farming is far more efficient than working individual plots. Workers on these farms pool their resources and knowledge, leading to improved education and higher, more equally distributed, wages. On some of these farms, income has increased by as much as 200%.

Community farming has the added benefit of bringing people together, making for cultural harmony and a happier workplace.

RELATIONSHIPS

We've forged some amazing relationships with our farming partners and visit them regularly. When we do, we're always overwhelmed not only by the love they have for their land, but also the incredible quality of the organic ingredients they nurture. These ingredients - plants and herbs like turmeric, calendula, amaranth, holy basil and honeysuckle - carry an essential energy which elevates them.

They're good for the land, great for the people who work with them, and nothing short of brilliant for you, when you put them your skin!
